The 90-Day Alliance Sprint: A Week-by-Week Plan to Take a Partnership From Signed to Revenue-Generating

Every experienced operator has witnessed it: the partnership announced with a press release, a celebratory dinner, and a signed agreement—followed by three months of silence. No joint pipeline. No shared calendar. No revenue. The contract was the finish line for everyone involved, when in truth it was only the starting gun.

The gap between signature and value is where most alliances die, and it is entirely preventable. What follows is the 90-day sprint structure we use to convert signed agreements into operating businesses.

Days 1–14: Name the Owners, Kill the Ambiguity

Week 1. Assign a named alliance owner on each side—not a committee, a person with authority and a line in their performance review. Schedule the kickoff within ten business days of signature; momentum decays fast.

Week 2. Hold the kickoff and translate the contract into a one-page operating plan: the two or three revenue outcomes that define success, the activities that produce them, and the specific owner for each. If the plan does not fit on one page, the partnership is not yet understood.

Milestone: Signed operating plan, joint project board live, single points of contact exchanged.

Days 15–30: Build the Shared Machinery

Weeks 3–4 are for plumbing, not strategy. Stand up the shared workspace—joint Slack channel or Teams environment, a common CRM view of the partner pipeline, a recurring biweekly working session on both calendars. Align the sales enablement basics: one-page partner brief, pitch materials, qualification criteria for what a good referral looks like on each side.

The most common failure here is asymmetric enthusiasm—one team shows up to the biweekly, the other sends a delegate. Address it now, in week three, when the correction is cheap.

Milestone: First joint pipeline review completed. Both teams can describe the other's offering in one accurate paragraph.

Days 31–60: Force the First Real Transactions

Weeks 5–8 exist to produce proof. Do not wait for organic momentum; manufacture it.

Early-warning metrics: time-to-first-handoff, number of named opportunities with next steps, meeting attendance from both sides. If any of these stall for two consecutive weeks, escalate before day 60, not after.

Milestone: At least three qualified opportunities in joint pipeline and one completed handoff of real value.

Days 61–90: Convert Momentum Into a Repeatable Motion

Weeks 9–12 turn proof into a system. Document what worked in the first transactions as a repeatable playbook. Agree on the quarterly business review cadence, the shared scorecard, and the escalation path for the inevitable friction. Set the day-90 targets for the next quarter—revenue, pipeline, or joint deliverables—so the sprint ends with a starting line, not a finish line.

Milestone: Day-90 review held jointly, next-quarter targets committed in writing, playbook documented.

The Three Rituals That Keep It Alive

  1. The biweekly working session—thirty minutes, standing agenda, both principals present.
  2. The shared scorecard—one page, visible to both teams, reviewed at every session.
  3. The quarterly business review—executive-level, honest about what is not working, with authority to change the plan on the spot.

A Closing Observation

Partnerships rarely die of conflict. They die of neglect—the slow drift that follows when no one owns the relationship and nothing is measured. Ninety days of deliberate structure is a modest investment to protect an agreement that took months to negotiate. Sign the contract, then earn it.
